Welcome to the heart of innovation at St. Charles Lwanga Secondary School Kasasa, where education extends beyond the classroom and into our community. Here, our students are not just learning; they’re actively creating positive, tangible change.
Students launch a community-led campaign to restore Lwera wetlands and nearby ecosystems. Using their ICT skills, they create a digital record system (website + simple database) to track the number of trees planted, survival rates, and areas reclaimed. They also use drones or phone GPS apps to map degraded land.

The ICT club develops a “Safe Water Awareness Project” by: Distributing simple water-testing kits and publishing results online. Building low-cost water filters using local materials (sand, charcoal, gravel). Creating short tutorial videos (in Luganda and English) on safe water handling, posted on the website and WhatsApp groups.
Students set up a plastic and organic waste collection system in school and nearby trading centers. ICT skills are used to: Create a digital registry of households/businesses that bring waste. Track collected waste and its end use (recycled, composted, etc.). Share success stories online to encourage more participation. Collected plastics are sold to recyclers, while organic waste is turned into manure.
